Health Office

VU’s Student Health Office is located in Harrison Hall. The office is staffed with two registered nurses, and services are administered under the supervision of the University consultant physicians at the Medical Center of Vincennes.
The mission of the SHO is the promotion of the physical and emotional well-being for students and staff through healthy life style education. The dedicated nurses are available for assessment of illnesses and can provide over the counter medications and interventions, initial and follow-up care for injuries, tetanus/diphtheria boosters, tuberculin screening and referrals for acute and/or chronic medical conditions.
Students should visit the SHO for assessment when not feeling well. If necessary, your student will be referred to the Medical Center of Vincennes. Residence Hall students are enrolled in the University medical program and off campus students may enroll in the program for a per semester fee. Physician office fees at the Medical Center for treatment of acute illnesses are covered under the program with a $5.00 co-payment. After hours care is available at the Good Samaritan Hospital Emergency Room. Charges for this care are the responsibility of the student and family.
In addition, ill students may request a sick tray by contacting his or her Residence Hall front desk.
Immunizations
Immunization data is required by the law under the Indiana College Immunization law and must be submitted to the SHO prior to the beginning of the semester. Students receive the physical/immunization forms by mail, or they may be printed from the SHO page on the Vincennes University website. Failure to complete the immunization requirements will make the student ineligible for registration for subsequent semesters, until the complete immunization records are submitted.
