Your Student’s Official ID and More

In addition to the Blazer OneCard being VU’s official ID, it can also be a debit card. From receiving financial aid refunds to purchasing course materials, it’s a necessity. Have your student follow the steps below for a stress free transition. For more information visit Blazer OneCard.

Criteria for Card Production

Students must log onto their MyVU account and confirm their address. If the address is incorrect, students must notify our Records Office to make corrections. Due to Homeland Security laws, cards cannot be forwarded to new addresses. A $20 fee will be charged for all replacement cards.

Get Your Picture Taken

All ID’s must have the student’s picture on the card unless he or she is a Distance Education student.

Watch for Their Card in the Mail and Activate Immediately

The card will not function for campus access & privileges until it has been activated, therefore it’s important to do so as soon as possible. Activation is quick & easy – Just log on to Blazer OneCard to get started. If your student needs additional help click on the “Learn about the OneAccount” or call Customer Service at (800) 815-6109. Activating the Blazer OneCard also allows students to select a refund preference, which is the method by which they will receive any financial refund from VU.

Easy Refund to the OneAccount

The FDIC-insured OneAccount has no monthly fees or minimum balance requirement. With the OneAccount, students can use their Blazer OneCard to make debit purchases wherever Debit MasterCard® is accepted. The OneAccount is the fastest way to receive a refund, giving access to money the same day it’s released by VU.

ACH Transfer (To other bank):

Students may choose to have an electronic deposit of their refund money to another bank account. This transfer may take 2-3 days before funds are available.

Paper Check:

Students may also elect to have a paper check sent to them in the mail. This option takes the longest. Paper checks can take 5 or more days.

Take Advantage of the OneAccount

Even if students choose paper check or ACH transfer as their refund preference, they still have the option of opening a OneAccount. Many students find the OneAccount is a great way to manage school expenses separate from other expenses. Families can deposit money onto the student’s account from any computer.

Using Their Card

It is not a credit card. Once their card is activated & they have money in their account, students can use it anywhere Debit MasterCard® is accepted. Students using the “Swipe and Sign” method will eliminate service charges associated with using their BlazerOneCard.
