Dear Parents and Families,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Vincennes University family.  Our President Dr. Richard Helton, the faculty, staff, and students of Vincennes University share your excitement and anticipation as this new chapter unfolds.

Vincennes University is a place where your students have the opportunity to learn, grow, and realize their dreams. It is important that they seek help and search for answers to their questions.  Resources abound from academic tutoring labs, individual tutoring (in almost every subject), to other special offices such as our Counseling Center and our Center for Career and Employer Relations. The VU community stands ready with information and encouragement for your student. But we are also here to help you, the family, through this next chapter.

VU believes communication with students’ families is essential to your student having a positive college experience.  Please take the time to sign up for our special e-newsletters designed to help parents and families.  Each e-newsletter is chocked full of timely information and resources that will help you help your student be successful.  It is easy to do.  Simply go to vinu.edu/parents and select e-newsletters.  Additionally, visit our WebPages designed especially for you.  They are a great way to stay on track – and stay connected.

Please accept this University Parent Guide as a piece of a campus-wide effort to provide excellent service to you and your student.  But also know that I am here to assist anytime you have a question or concern.  VU values your input and insight.  Please contact me if you have questions, concerns, or issues.  I eagerly await the opportunity to serve you.

Best Wishes!

Cindy Beaman
