The EKU Police Department provides round-the-clock full-service police protection to all campus buildings, parking lots, residence halls, and grounds. It has concurrent jurisdiction on streets adjacent to the campus. There are 25 sworn officers who patrol and answer calls for service in cruisers, on bicycle, on motorcycle and on foot.

In emergencies, police can be contacted at 911. There are also numerous call boxes strategically located around the campus, which ring directly into the police dispatch center.

The department is committed to maintaining a safe campus for the University’s students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This includes providing an environment that is conducive to academic pursuits.
