Summer Conferences

The Office of University Housing and Residential Life is available to assist students and parents with a wide range of services relevant to students’ on and off-campus, residential experience. During the spring and summer months our focus is on the procedures involved with processing all housing and meal plan requests for over 5,000 residential students.

Due to limited availability, university policy only guarantees on-campus housing for incoming freshman, and current freshman returning to on-campus housing for sophomore year who submit housing deposits and complete the requirements of the housing selection process.

Move-in Dates for New Students:

  • Wednesday, August 24, 2011
  • Thursday, August 25, 2011
  • Move-in Dates for Returning Students:
  • Saturday, August 27, 2011
  • Sunday, August 28, 2011

Early Arrival Requests:

Students can apply through Housing On-Demand via the MyHousing application on the TUportal if they have a need to arrive early for the fall 2011 semester.
The dates being offered for Early Arrival are as follows:

  • Sunday, August 21, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Monday, August 22, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, August 23, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Housing Extension Requests

All undergraduate residence halls are closed during vacation periods, with the exception of 1300, Temple Towers, 1940, White Hall and The Edge Complex.   Only students permanently assigned to these residence halls may submit a request for a housing occupancy extension.

Deadline dates for 1300, Temple Towers, and the Edge Occupancy Extension Requests:

  • November 18, 2011: (Thanksgiving Break from Nov. 24 - Nov. 27)
  • December 2, 2011: (Winter Break from Dec. 17 – Jan. 15) 
  • February 24, 2012: (Spring Break from Mar. 3 – Mar. 11)

Room Change Process

There are two room-change periods during the academic year, two weeks after the starts of fall and spring semesters.

  • Fall 2011: Sept. 12, 2011 - Sept. 23, 2011
  • Spring 2012: Jan. 30, 2012 - Feb. 10, 2012
