Union College Parent Guide
Community Outreach
Union was named to the 2009 and 2010 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for its commitment to fostering a strong relationship with the surrounding community. There are many opportunities and ways to get involved.
Through Greek organizations, athletic teams, Minerva programs, clubs, religious and cultural groups, and the Kenney Community Center, Union students volunteer thousands of hours each year to tutor local school children, organize health workshops and food drives, clean up city streets and parks, build Habitat for Humanity homes, and much more.
Kenney programs include America Reads, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Junior Science, Homework and Skills Development Program, SAIL (Studying Arithmetic in Literature), STEP (Science and Technology Entry Program) and VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance).
