We strongly encourage students to become a part of the activities and leadership options at WOU! Students that are involved on campus are more likely to make connections and have an enjoyable collegiate experience! No matter who you are or what your interests, we have something for you!

WOU offers over 65 student organizations on campus – everything from “MEChA” to “Chinese Club,” “Camp Adventure Youth Services,” or “Model United Nations.” We have academic, social, religious, political, cultural, service and much more!

This is the chance to discover and explore a diverse array of interests outside of the classroom. Students will build upon what they learn in class, learn more about themselves, build life-long friendships and find a place to belong.

In addition, campus offers a tremendous number of activities, sponsored by multiple departments to relax and have some fun! The Office of University Residences will sponsor incredible weekend programs and Student Activities Board puts on dances, comedians, bands and dozens of activities a year. Student Leadership & Activities sponsors programs such as WOUMania, Step Afrika, a Women in Arts series or the annual Hot Dog eating competition.

This is in addition to all of the events that other student organizations plan. There is a tremendous amount of things to do on campus – all year long!

If leadership is the topic of interest, there are dozens of opportunities to get involved. There are too many to list, but visit Student Leadership and Activities to explore some of those options. And if students really want to challenge themselves, look at the WOU Leadership Certificate program there too!

Our philosophy on leadership is simple: “Leadership is a process. Leadership is about experiences. Leadership is for everyone!”
