The Office of Diversity and Inclusion promotes an educational environment that recognizes and celebrates the diverse culture of the University of Central Oklahoma.

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion focuses on researching, designing, and implementing unique programs that promote the pursuit of academic success, encourage retention and enhance graduation rates of students. These programs serve to expand students’ cultural horizons, cultural competence and cultural perspectives while honoring their respective cultural experiences.

In an ever-growing multicultural and global society it is essential students are culturally competent, meaning that they have the skills, knowledge and awareness needed to interact successfully with people of different backgrounds.

The office aims to educate Central students on the importance of diversity and multiculturalism. The goal is that students understand that no matter the race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, social economic status, or nationality; we have to learn to successful work together.
