Union has cultivated a community that values and welcomes diverse perspectives. Our students come from many different backgrounds, all parts of the United States and around the world.
Approximately 18 percent self-identify as members of a multicultural group. International students make up 4 percent of our student population, a figure that is growing as Union continues its emphasis on international recruitment.
The Office of Multicultural Affairs helps campus organizations collaborate with each other and also assists with cultural events, LGBTQ programs, religious and spiritual programs for a variety of faiths, and other special events. The office addresses issues related to diversity, safety and inclusion, and it facilitates professional and student-organized workshops, lectures and discussion groups. UNITAS is an organization that specifically supports groups and individuals who create events aimed at fostering diversity and inclusion.
