The UA Peer Mentor program matches upperclassmen with freshman students in order to provide assistance in the transition from high school to college. Peer Mentors support freshman students in the following ways: facilitating the development of a support network for incoming students; teaching freshman students how to navigate UA systems and utilize campus resources; and assisting freshmen in articulating and pursuing their goals at UA and beyond.

UA Peer Mentors are a group of 50+ upperclassmen dedicated to helping freshmen students feel at home and succeed at the University of Alabama. The 2009-2010 Peer Mentors are some of the most outstanding students on campus and are involved in a wide range of campus activities. Developing a relationship with a Peer Mentor can help your son or daughter explore academic, career and co-curricular interests, find ways to be involved on campus, meet other students, and establish patterns leading to overall success in college.
Encourage your student to sign up to work with a Peer Mentor today! Fill out the interest form through our website (leadership.ua.edu) or call the Student Involvement & Leadership office at (205) 348-6114 for more information.
