Is your student looking for a chance to lead at UA in a unique way? Do they want to build their leadership skills, make connections on campus, and have a summer job? The Office of Parent Programs has an opportunity that may be what your student is looking for! We have a team of 20 students, the Parent Ambassadors, who work with our office, assisting with our programming and helping parents and families during Parent Orientation and Family Weekend.

Applications for this position will be available on Monday, September 6, 2010 online and in our office. Students are encouraged to attend an interest meeting, which are being held in Ferguson 300 on Tuesday, September 21 at 12pm and Friday, September 24 at 4pm. This will give students an opportunity to meet with past Parent Ambassador team members, and to learn more about this unique on-campus opportunity. Students will participate in weekly training sessions during the Spring semester, a week of intensive training during May, and then work 20-25 hours during the summer months assisting with Orientation.

Applications can be found at parents.ua.edu beginning September 6. Questions about the position should be directed to Jessica Criswell at jlcriswell@sa.ua.edu, or Laura Valentine at gradasst1@sa.ua.edu.
