The University of Alabama's Outdoor Recreation Office will be hosting Roll Tide on the River (RTOR), a variety of outdoor water adventures that provide the opportunity for personal growth and summer fun. RTOR offers your student the chance to kayak, raft or canoe in rivers and creeks in both Alabama and Tennessee.

This experience creates an environment for your student to develop leadership skills and create new relationships with current students, new students and staff members. These trips are open to all students and are a great way to stay active during the summer months. The cost of the trip includes transportation, gear, a guide and instruction.

Below is a list of RTOR events for summer 2012:

  • 5/12/2012: Paddling the Cahaba River; $20; RTOR event
  • 6/2/2012: Paddling Bear Creek; $20; RTOR event
  • 6/16-6/17/2012: Rafting Ocoee River; $75; RTOR event
  • 7/14/2012: Paddling Bear Creek; $20; RTOR event
  • 7/28/2012: Rafting Ocoee River; $45; RTOR event

To experience RTOR, your student must complete a trip waiver and sign up with the UA Outdoor Recreation Office by calling (205) 348-7045 or emailing Steven Middleton at srmiddleton1@crimson.ua.edu. Spots are limited, so have your student sign up now!
