Bursar’s Office: Frequently Asked Questions
When are billing statements sent out? When are they due?
Fall semester billing statements and related information are mailed out on or around June 15. Payment and/or approved expected funding (approved loans and private scholarships, proof of PrePaid Tuition 529 Plans and TuitionPay plans) is due by July 15. Spring semester billing and related information are mailed on or around the last week of November. Payment and/or approved expected funding is due by December 31.
What payment methods are accepted by The Boston Conservatory?
The Bursar’s Office accepts personal, certified and bank checks (made out to The Boston Conservatory with the student’s name noted), wires to The Boston Conservatory bank account, money orders and cash. The Boston Conservatory does not accept credit cards or debit cards.
When are refunds available for students with a credit balance on their account?
Refunds for student accounts with a credit balance are processed approximately 7–14 days after the tenth class day. All refunds are issued to the student unless one of the following situations applies: The student instructs the Financial Aid or Bursar’s Office in writing to issue the refund to another party. If there is a Parent Plus loan, the refund is issued to the parent. The parent may instruct the Financial Aid or Bursar’s Office in writing to issue the refund to another party. Pell-eligible students who are expecting a refund will receive a book stipend after the start of the semester.
Why are revised bills (those issued after add/drop period) given to the student and not sent to the home address?
A student over 18 years old is considered a legal adult and is responsible for his/her account. Therefore, all billing statements are mailed to the student or given to the student in person.
