University of Colorado at Boulder Parent Guide
Get Involved at CU
When we say “GO BUFFS!” we mean it! Parents are Buffs, too! Whether CU Boulder parents live in Boulder, across the country, or around the world, there are many ways to get involved. The Office of Parent Relations administers the CU Parents Association (CUPA), which encourages families to play a supportive role in higher education, stay involved with their students, and develop their own connection to CU-Boulder.
Parents can share their student’s CU experience and the college years are often a family’s most treasured years. Parents and family members can share the college experience, be involved in what their student is into, and determine the level of commitment they want to enjoy as parents. Commitment can be as simple as regular communication with their student. But many parents want more. By joining CUPA, parents will be more informed about what is happening on campus, be more connected, and find ways to volunteer their time and resources to benefit the university. The CUPA Board of Directors offers an even deeper level of engagement to our parents.
“Being involved gives me a better understanding of the opportunities available to students, as well as a good idea of what is happening on campus. But the best part is helping other parents adjust to CU Boulder.”
David Jordan, parent of Jenna, ’11
