Colorado College has a long history of challenging itself with the highest of aspirations and boldly achieving them. The institution’s mission of offering the finest liberal arts education in the country by providing its students with a unique intellectual adventure is no exception. It makes sense then, that members of the extended college community would participate in ambitious fundraising efforts as well.

Every gift to the college, no matter its size, is vital to making the adventure possible. Dedicated, loyal annual donors make a huge difference in the form of student and faculty support and campus infrastructure. By the way, we want you to be aware that the Walton Family Foundation has issued a generous five-year challenge to match every gift made — dollar for dollar — to need-based financial aid endowment. So if financial aid is your passion, any donation you designate to this critical need will be doubled!

Those who choose to give unrestricted dollars to CC’s Annual Fund should know that the college carefully applies those funds directly to the areas of greatest need. In addition, the college has established two gift societies to recognize some of its most generous annual leaders – the 1874 Society and the President’s Circle.

The 1874 Society, named for the year the college was founded, is a group of nearly 900 alumni, parents and friends who give $1,874 (or more) in unrestricted funds annually. These funds support everything from new study abroad courses to lab supplies.

The society recognizes its members for their outstanding leadership and generosity by hosting events on campus and across the country. From stimulating lectures with faculty to compelling performances and private receptions with leading scholars, these events connect members to the college in substantive and meaningful ways.

The President’s Circle is a distinguished group of alumni, parents and friends who are also devoted to sustaining the college’s excellence and ensuring its future. Membership in the President’s Circle requires a $10,000 investment, renewable annually. Each year, CC’s president applies these unrestricted funds to further specific initiatives aimed at advancing the college’s mission and goals.
