The Center for Service and Learning was created to promote an ethic of service and to develop civic-minded leadership among all members of the college community. Our purpose is to recognize and understand the civic and social challenges of our world and to act with others in pursuit of a just society.
Some of the opportunities we provide for students include: on-going service organizations, student organizations geared toward advocacy and activism, student organizations focused on philanthropy and fundraising, over 300 one-time service events, the NSO service experience, Saturday of Service program, the ASPIRE leadership program, an international service program, and one of the nation’s oldest student-run, on-campus soup kitchens, the CC Community Kitchen.
We offer a series of career enhancement workshops and collaborate with faculty to develop and facilitate academic courses that include a community-based component.
