Questions from Parents
What is your advice on spending money and other financial concerns?
The financial aid office uses an estimated budget of $900 for personal spending money a year. This is an average of $112 each block for expenses such as personal products, pizza, occasional recreational activities, etc. The budget for books is $1,054 a year or about $131 per block. Parents can place money in a Gold Card debit account.
How do parents access grades?
College students’ records are protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Students may view their grades online through Access after grades have been submitted and recorded by the registrar’s office. Since the system is student controlled, we encourage students to share grade information with their parents.
Parents can access grades through Access by knowing their student’s ID number and PIN. Students can also request official transcripts from the registrar’s office, which includes complete course, grade, and GPA information.
How can I send a cake to my student on his or her birthday?
