Clubs & Community Involvement
Student life at California State University, Chico doesn’t end in the classroom. Chico State offers 240 student clubs and organizations. By becoming involved in co-curricular activities, students can gain a sense of belonging and better enjoy a well-rounded college experience.
Clubs, Organizations, Activities
Clubs range from specific majors to religions to athletics, providing an excellent way for students to meet others with similar interests. If there isn’t a club already established that a student wishes to join, Chico State encourages students to start their own clubs. Most clubs accept students of any grade level. Sororities and fraternities provide another option for student involvement at Chico State.
Community Involvement
Community service organizations at Chico State provide yet another way for students to get involved. Students can volunteer their time with a variety of groups, including Community Action Volunteers in Education (CAVE), Community Legal Information Center (CLIC), and Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE).
CAVE is the largest volunteer organization on campus and places approximately 3,000 volunteers in the community each year. Programs include working one-on-one with kids and the elderly and weekend immersion trips for groups of volunteers to San Francisco and the Napa Valley.
