Admitted Students Preview Day
On Saturday, April 10, Chico State hosted the inaugural Admitted Students Spring Preview Day. Admissions received 2,800 reservations from newly admitted students and their families. New students were welcomed by University President Paul Zingg, were invited on campus walking tours, housing tours, Wildcat Recreation Center tours, trolley tours of downtown Chico, and a myriad of department tours.
The University has an enrollment target of 2,100 new first year students and 1,900 transfer students for fall 2010. The Preview Event gives admitted students the opportunity to view this wonderful campus of ours, and provides departments and colleges from campus the opportunity to showcase some of the incredible students and programs here at the University.
Despite cool temperatures and breezy conditions, more than 2,000 enjoyed lunch on Kendall lawn complete with cupcakes displayed in the traditional Block "C." The AS Bookstore did sell a load of Chico State sweatshirts! It was fun to see prospective students getting excited about Chico State and already displaying their school spirit (many a mom and dad sported new Chico State gear as well).
For newly admitted students, if you plan to attend Chico State in the fall and have not submitted your Intent to Enroll and your $200 Enrollment Confirmation Deposit or waiver it must be received by May 1. Simply log-in to your portal account using your student ID number that was sent to you with your offer of admissions packet. We hope you'll decide to attend Chico State! If you have any questions, please call us at 1-800-542-4426 or e-mail info@csuchico.edu.
