Chico State Parent Advisory Council
Parents Making a Difference in the lives of Chico State Students
The Chico State Parent Advisory Council held its first official meeting of the academic year on Saturday, October 11. Council president, Bob Combs, presided over the meeting held on the Chico State campus. The council took a tour of the Wildcat Recreation Center, which is still slated to open spring 2009, and heard a presentation from Cathy Felix, Director of Student Health Services. University President Paul Zingg and Vice Presidents of University Advancement, Richard Ellison, and Student Affairs, Drew Calandrella, also reported on their respective areas.

The Parent Advisory Council is still a very new organization to CSU-Chico. Started in fall 2007 with 11 charter members, the council now has 22 parent members. The council has set the goal of having 30 parent members by June 1, 2009. The purpose of the council is to:
- Provide advice and counsel in long-range planning and development of PAC activities, programs, and services.
- Aid in the formulation and promotion of goals and objectives for the PAC and communicate this to Chico State parents.
- Encourage and support maximum parent involvement in the PAC.
- Enhance communication between the University and Chico State parents.
- Assist the Vice President for University Advancement and the Vice President for Student Affairs in identifying and cultivating Chico State parents and others to support the mission of the University.
