Dear Cal Poly Pomona Parents, Friends and Families,

Welcome to the Cal Poly Pomona family. Our campus is a special place where students can learn, grow and realize their full potential. The college experience is often one of life’s most rewarding times.  And that journey begins now. My own college years shaped the person I am today. I believe that your students will also have a transformative experience, and I look forward to your partnership in this endeavor. 

As Cal Poly Pomona Broncos, they will have many opportunities to learn both in and outside of the classroom, experience many joys and challenges, and begin their path towards their careers. Just as your students may have feelings of apprehension, excitement and confusion, you too may be facing new feelings and challenges. Students and families deal with change in different ways, so we encourage you to be patient, supportive and understanding as your students establish their new independence. 

We hope to partner with you, their strongest support network, to help create a successful collegiate experience. During our Parent and Family Orientation Program, you have the opportunity to learn of the bountiful resources and programs available to your students. Just as we advise your students to ask questions, we strongly encourage your full participation in the Orientation experience.

If we missed you at Orientation, this guide will provide you with an overview of our University’s offerings to help students succeed. You will find that we are a student-centered University, and we care about our students’ success and growth.
