Welcome Parents and Families!

Welcome to the year's first edition of DU Parent Connection. This e-newsletter is a great resource for you to receive updates on what's happening at Dominican University. The newsletter is just one part of our growing parent program.

We have continued to offer the Parent Guide for new student parents as a resource on campus offices, services and programs. If you are an existing student parent and would like a copy of the guide please let us know. An online version is available at www.dom.edu/parents.

This year we are debuting some new workshops for parents in the Spring semester. On January 30, we will be offering a workshop for Parents of Seniors Year Students and on February 27 a workshop for Parents of Sophomores and Juniors. These workshops are designed to address the individual needs of students in these class levels.

Along with these workshops we'll continue to offer our traditional family events. Join us for Family Weekend on October 9 -11 as we celebrate art and spirit. On November 13, we welcome you to Dinner and a Show, with hosted dinners at local Oak Park restaurants and then discounted tickets to the student production of Macbeth on campus. The Fall semester will wrap up with Kids and Sibs and Parents Too Weekend on December 5 and 6.

Throughout this year, we'll be asking your feedback on these offerings as well as other programs or services you would like. Please feel free to send any comments you have, or ideas that would help you feel more connected to DU, to our parent email: parents@dom.edu.
