Career Development
careers@dom.edu

Beginning the freshman year and extending beyond graduation, Career Development actively assists students of all majors with career-related issues, educating them about the career planning process, internships, job search strategies and facilitates the graduate/professional school application process as they transition from college to career.

The center provides in-house publications on resume writing, cover letters and job-search strategies, as well as workshops on these career-related topics. Students and alumnae/i can access employment opportunities, including full-time, part-time and internship opportunities, through its many resources.

Students in their Junior and Senior year of study may be eligible to receive academic credit for participating in the internship program.  Internships expose students to the world beyond the boundaries of the classroom, enhancing their self-awareness and aiding them in their career choice.  As a result of internships, students have a better understanding of work and the challenges and demands of various careers.

If you would like to become a mentor for a student interested in your industry, would like to participate in Career Development events for students, or promote jobs/internships with your employer, please email  indicate your business name and industry.

Career Development is located in Parmer Hall and is also accessible online from the website, where there are a wide variety of links to sites for career information for students and alumnae/i.
