Student Bills - Are You Up-to-Date?

With the spring term underway, students should either have (a) paid their bill in full or (b) signed up for a monthly payment plan through CASHNet, our partner for structured payment plans and secure, on-line payments.  If the spring balance is still unpaid, it's not too late to sign up for a payment plan!  Note that unaddressed balances incur higher fees and finance charges and also cause the account to be put on hold.  That can become an issue for the upcoming housing lottery and spring registration.  Contact the Student Accounts Office for details at 708-524-6487 or bursar@dom.edu.  We're here to ahelp.

Helping Your Child with Second Semester Goals

Posted in

With the semester beginning, the opportunity to continue on recent academic success has arrived for our students.  For those who need to reestablish themselves in the classroom, this is an ideal time to connect with their academic advisors and/or faculty and find out what factors contributed to their not achieving their goals in the fall in order to reset their paths in the right direction.  Academic Advisors are available to all undergraduate students if they need advising on their course load or if they need to add or drop a course.

A Reminder about Submitting Immunization Records

Posted in

The state of Illinois requires each student taking 6 or more hours on any Dominican campus to document their immunization records. Required vaccinations include 2 measles (after the first birthday), a mumps, a rubella and a tetanus booster within the past 10 years.
This can be confusing to students, so help them find and submit their records if they have not already.

Job Fairs through Career Development

Posted in

As members of the Illinois Small College Placement Association (ISCPA), Career Development is co-sponsoring two major job fairs this month. The CareerFest job fair brings together students and alumni with recruiters in business, government, and the non-profit sector seeking to fill a variety of full time and internship opportunities. CareerFest will be held on Friday, February 5. Pre-registration for this event has ended, but students may still register at the door on the day of the event. Secondly, TeacherFest, which takes place on Thursday, February, 18 connects quality teacher candidates with school districts throughout the state of Illinois. Pre-registration is underway for TeacherFest. Have your student stop by Career Development for more information. Both of these events are held at Drury Lane Theater in Oakbrook Terrace. For more information on these, and all of our other events, please visit our website: www.careers.dom.edu. Also, remind your students that our services are available to them even after graduation!"

News from Residence Life

Posted in

The start of the spring semester has been quite busy for all of us in the residence halls. We were happy to welcome back returning residents, and to welcome a number of new students as well. Over the past month, our Resident Assistants (RAs) have been busy at work holding floor meetings and implementing social and educational programs for our students. Their efforts really help with the development of community here at Dominican.
