The Student Outreach and Transition Office (SOTO) serves as a one-stop shop for the transitional needs of adult, transfer, and veteran students by providing comprehensive support to students from initial inquiry to first semester registration.
SOTO provides individualized consulting for prospective first-time and returning adult students in areas such as admissions, degree audits, the transfer credit process, major selection, academic bankruptcy, and degree completion.
As a response to growing veteran enrollment, SOTO houses the VA certifying official that assists in securing veterans’ benefits. In addition, SOTO is dedicated to veteran students and offers transitional services to assist in achieving their educational goals.
For transfer students, SOTO works behind the scenes with academic departments, faculty, and administration in addressing transfer student issues by overseeing all undergraduate transfer course evaluations, developing and implementing initiatives to provide a seamless transition.
Also the office strives to provide answers to basic questions regarding filing for financial aid, financial aid appeals, professional judgment, and receiving credit for prior learning.
