What does FAU's change to Direct Lending mean to me as a parent of an FAU student?

FAU recommends that parents apply for a Direct Parent PLUS Loan no earlier than 60 days prior to the start of an enrollment period for which the loan is intended and the student is eligible

FAU's change to the Direct Lending Program offers:

  • Stable and predictable loan process during economic instability
  • Funding directly from the U.S. Department of Education
  • Lower PLUS Loan interest rates
  • Competitive interest rates, repayment options and fee reduction incentives
  • Direct Consolidation Loan Program available to combine all Federal Loans
  • Single point of contact for better management of student loans
  • More lenient credit assessment for Grad PLUS and Parent PLUS borrowers

Is your student receiving a Federal Student Loan in the 2010/2011 Academic Year?

Then your student MUST complete a NEW MPN and Entrance Counseling here.
