Welcome to Homecoming and Parent & Family Weekend at Florida International University! We are excited to have you here during an exciting time of spirit and tradition at the University, and are looking forward to a great weekend full of fun events for the whole family! Refer to the following schedule of events for more information about this weekend.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13

10am - 5pm- Check-In

Modesto A. Maidique Campus (MMC) Graham Center 112
Beginning at 10am, visit the Office of Orientation and Commuter Student Services to check-in for the weekend and receive your materials.

1 - 4pm- The Wolfsonian-FIU

1001 Washington Avenue Miami Beach, FL 33139
The Wolfsonian-FIU is a museum located in the heart of historic Miami Beach. Its fascinating collection of objects from the modern era (1885-1945) focuses on how art and design shape and reflect the human experience. We encourage visitors to explore the material culture of the past to better understand its relevance to the present. Parent & Family Weekend guests receive free admission November 13-15, and students are admitted free with their Panther ID card.

4pm- Homecoming Parade

Modesto A. Maidique Campus (MMC)
Join us as we celebrate FIU’s Homecoming through the traditional Homecoming Parade around the Modesto A. Maidique Campus!

5:30pm- Homecoming Pep Rally

Get pumped and prepared for tomorrow’s Homecoming game, and experience the pride and tradition of FIU!

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14

7am- IFC 5K Parent & Family Weekend Fun Run & Walk

Modesto A. Maidique Campus (MMC)
Wake up early and enjoy a morning walk or run around Florida International University’s beautiful Modesto A. Maidique Campus! Sign-in will begin at 7am, and the race will start at 8am. All proceeds from the IFC 5K Parent & Family Weekend Fun Run/Walk will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network/Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation. This event is sponsored by the Interfraternity Council (IFC) of Florida International University. Participants may pre-register, or register at the 7am sign-in.

11am – 1pm- Check-In

Modesto A. Maidique Campus (MMC) MARC Building Lobby
Check-in for those joining us on Saturday will take place at the entrance to the Division of Student Affairs Brunch.

11am – 1pm- Division of Student Affairs Brunch

Modesto A. Maidique Campus (MMC) MARC Pavilion
Come meet and mingle with staff members from various departments within the Division of Student Affairs.

1 – 3pm- Lakeview Carnival

Modesto A. Maidique Campus (MMC) in front of Lakeview North and South
The 4th Annual Lakeview Carnival event is sponsored by the Lakeview Housing Community. Celebrate Homecoming and Parent & Family Weekend Lakeview style!  Join us for games, carnival food, and fun before the official tailgate!

Join attendees from the Silver Pride Reunion for bus tours of the Modesto A. Maidique Campus!

2 – 4pm- Frost Art Museum Tours

Modesto A. Maidique Campus (MMC) Frost Art Museum
Join attendees from the Silver Pride Reunion for tours of the new Frost Art Museum! The first-class facility was designed by internationally recognized architect Yann Weymouth of Hellmuth Obata + Kassabaum (HOK). The 46,000-square foot museum opened in November, 2008, and is a part of the Smithsonian Affiliate program, providing the community with access to some of the world’s premiere collections!

2:30 – 4pm- Champagne Toast with Colleges and Schools

Modesto A. Maidique Campus (MMC) Frost Art Museum
Mingle with faculty and staff from FIU’s Colleges and Schools, and share a toast with attendees from the Silver Pride Reunion! Pre-registration is required for this event.

4 – 7pm- The FIU Experience – Panther Tailgate

Modesto A. Maidique Campus (MMC) FIU Stadium
Join members of the Alumni Association for the Homecoming pre-game tailgate, complete with food and fun!

7pm- FIU Golden Panthers v. University of North Texas

Modesto A. Maidique Campus (MMC) FIU Stadium
Cheer on the Golden Panthers as they take on University of North Texas for the official Homecoming Showdown! Kick-off for the game is scheduled for 7pm.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 15
