The Women Who Lead Conference

The Women Who Lead Conference is scheduled for Friday, March 5, at Biscayne Bay Campus and Friday, March 26, at Modesto A. Maidique Campus.

Women Who Lead is a day-long conference which aims to enhance the leadership development of FIU's female students and connect them with women leaders in their fields of interest and the community. Events in the conference include a networking reception with employers, lunch and a panel with the women leaders and two keynote speakers.

The 2010 BBC keynote speaker will be Dawn Walzak, first vice president of Tishman Hotel Corporation in Orlando. She has been named one of Travel Weekly's "Forty under Forty" - leaders who represent the next generation of travel. The 2010 MMC keynote speaker will be Beth Sobol, president of Sobol Fashion Productions and founder of International Fashion Week, Miami. She was presented with the 2009 Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.

The conference is sponsored by SGA and free to students.  The lunch with women leaders session is offered at a cost of $5 for students. The cost of the entire conference for FIU alumni is $20 and other community members is $25.
