Dan Rather Visits Biscayne Bay Campus

Award-winning journalist Dan Rather discussed "Journalism in Crisis" as part of the SGA Lecture Series at Biscayne Bay Campus on Tuesday, March 9th. About 300 FIU students, staff and community guests enjoyed his speech. Rather, with over 40 years of journalism experience ranging from CBS Evening News to 60 Minutes, spoke profoundly about his experiences about his 40 year career, mistakes he made along the way and advice and tips for future journalists.

Following the lecture, certain FIU members attended a reception with Mr. Rather and were able to speak to him further and received his autograph. Currently, Dan Rather is now the managing editor and anchor of a television news magazine, Dan Rather Reports.
