Illini-Alert Notification System

In January 2009, the University of Illinois switched to a new provider for its emergency text notification system. The Illini-Alert Notification system is offered by a company called MyStateUSA. The MyStateUSA system offers fast delivery times, easy registration, and great integrity in times of crisis because it is hosted off campus.

The emergency notification system allows students to invite two additional contacts to receive e-mail and text message notifications.  This is where parents come in!  When your student registers for Illini-Alert or reviews their registration for emergency notifications, be sure to ask your student to enter your e-mail address and cell phone as an additional contact.  You will then receive the same messages indicating a threat to the safety and security of the campus community.

Please remind your student to update contact information when they move or change their e-mail or phone number. We can only reach you if we have correct contact information. We thank you for the role you play in ensuring campus safety.
