Campus Safety
IUPUI cares about your student’s safety. That is why we employ 35 full-time police officers and five full-time security officers. The full-time police officers are certified as law enforcement officers by the Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board and meet the same standards as other enforcement officers in Indiana.
There are more than 50 yellow emergency telephones on campus, many of which have a distinctive blue light above them, that are direct and free lines to the Public Safety Dispatch Center located on campus.
If a student ever feels unsafe on campus, or if a student is locked out of his/her car, has a dead car battery, a flat tire, or an empty gas tank, he/she needs to call (317) 274-SAFE (7233). This service will provide a student with an escort or other help on request 24 hours a day.
