Moving and Storage
Between moving home or to other locations for summer jobs and internships, moving back to school each fall, and switching between different residence halls or apartments, your student will spend plenty of time hauling belongings from one place to another.
These resources can help make those moves as easy as possible:
- Storage space: If your student is coming home for the summer, renting space in a self-storage facility near campus allows him to safely leave winter clothes, textbooks, school supplies, linens, and room furnishings. Many self-storage companies serving college communities offer door-to-door service (helpful for students who don’t have cars). Your student can economize by sharing a storage space with a friend or roommate.
- Moving truck rentals or professional movers: If your student is in an apartment and has accumulated a bed, desk, couch, dresser, and other large items, this is the way to go.
