Education Abroad at Kennesaw State University

Global learning enhances one’s professional potential and competencies for participating responsibly in today’s complex, interdependent world. Through an interdisciplinary and experiential approach to global learning, KSU has created numerous opportunities for students to immerse themselves in systems of meaning different from their own.

Kennesaw State University offers over 60 short-term study abroad programs in over 40 exciting locations around the world and offer both general education or major credits.  Therefore, it’s never too early or too late to begin studying abroad!  KSU also offers longer term experiences that are the same or comparable in price to a semester spent here at KSU, as well as professional development opportunities.

All degree-seeking KSU students in good academic standing who apply for KSU-approved education abroad programs are eligible to receive a Global Learning Scholarship.  These scholarships are funded by a student fee assessed every semester: your student is already paying for study abroad, they should take advantage!  Scholarship amounts range from $500-$2,000.

Our faculty directors conduct comprehensive pre-departure orientations to help prepare students for their experiences abroad. While abroad, students learn first hand about other countries and cultures.

Upon completion of their study abroad experiences, students are encouraged to apply for KSU’s Global Engagement Certification (GEC). The GEC formally recognizes student achievement of valuable global learning in the areas of global perspectives, intercultural skills and global citizenship and is a special distinction they will receive on their diploma.
