Sending you child off to college can be traumatic for parents. The first time your student calls you and they are sick can re-traumatize you. Please be assured that here at KSU the Health Clinics on campus have the health needs of your student as their top priority and concern.

When your student calls you not feeling well your first question should be, " Have you gone to the clinic to be seen." KSU students all have access to walk-in care Monday through Friday, no appointment needed.

The cost of the visit is covered by their student fees and the only potential for out of pocket costs is if your student needs lab work or medication. Students are not expected to pay when they are seen; all charges are posted to their KSU Owl Express Account and payment can be made any time within 30 days.

Sometimes students do not need to be seen by a health care provider they only need cold medicine or a pain reliever. The clinic keeps that readily available for students to help themselves. If they have questions or concerns about over the counter medications we will ask them to sign in and be seen.

The clinic staff can not speak to you, the parents without your student's written consent. If you know that your student is coming in to be evaluated ask them to call you when they are in the exam room and then hand the health care provider the phone. We are then able and happy to speak with you.

In a perfect world students would never become sick, but when they do the KSU Health Clinics are here to care for your student.

For emergencies after the clinic has closed, we now offer on-call. Just call the main line to the Clinic at 770-423-6644.
