K-State Family Day

Family Day at K-State is a fun-filled day where you can be as busy or as relaxed as you determine you want to be.
K-State Family Day gives you the opportunity to catch up with your student. You will see what they do while at school, where they hang out and, of course, where they study. In addition, it allows you to take in the K-State experience through the many activities and events that are scheduled throughout the day.
The many times we have attended K-State Family Day, we have always made it a priority to start the day at the K-State Student Union. This is a great place learn about what’s going on around campus and in Manhattan. Living communities, organizations and clubs host tables for parents and visitors to stop by and learn more about how your student can get involved. This is a great way to see everything in one setting and help your student take advantage of the opportunities that fit their schedule and interests.
As you walk through the K-State Student Union, we would be surprised if you don’t hear whispers and rumblings of “be sure you make it over to Call Hall for ice cream.” This is one of the many must-dos while on campus, especially since the ice cream is made at K-State. While in Call Hall be sure you pick up your wild loaf for tailgating later on at the football game or plan on attending Family Time in Cat Town. Throughout the day there are many organized activities including numerous tours of popular venues, the Beach Museum of Art, live music, entertainment and of course strolling across campus.
Visitors are also encouraged to explore the various retail shops in Manhattan and the numerous restaurants and cafes in the highly acclaimed Aggieville. Taking in a round of golf is also highly encouraged and the avid golfer can choose from either Stagg Hill Golf Course or the renowned Colbert Hills golf course. A stop at Varney’s or the K-State Union bookstore is also a must and don’t forget to stock up on the newest K-State gear for the whole family.
End your day on a high note by attending the K-State football game where you will have the opportunity to interact with the K-State family many of which are active participants in the Parents and Family Association.
