Liberty University Parent Guide

Help for Haiti

Posted in

The current crisis in Haiti has affected all of us as our hearts yearn to provide support, relief, and help to the Haitian people and everyone there. Here at Liberty we have 17 students from Haiti and many more of Haitian decent. The president of our Parent Association has an orphanage in Haiti which will be taking in many more orphans as a result of this catastrophe. Liberty University is encouraging students, staff, and faculty who are inquiring about how to help, to give to organizations that specialize in first response. They include: Gleaning for the World, WorldHelp, Samaritan's Purse, World Vision, and Compassion International and Freedom House (this is LU's own Parent Association President's orphanage in Haiti). Campus Pastor Johnnie Moore said to the students, "The best thing you can do is give to those organizations and pray intently for those people."
