Summer Construction

Summer is here and the boisterous sound of students on campus has been replaced by the thunderous sound of construction vehicles.

The largest project by far are the additions to the Williams Football Stadium which include an additional 6,600 seats and a brick- and glass-encased, Jeffersonian-style five-story tower that will house 18 permanent luxury suites, a banquet room that will seat up to 800 people, a 1,000-seat classroom and a state-of-the-art press area. New concession stands and restrooms will also be added.

Other construction projects taking place include:

  • The STOC (Soccer/Track Operations Center)
  • Six new NCAA-regulation tennis courts
  • Lloyd auditorium renovation for use by the Marching Band
  • Bruckner Learning Center relocation to the third floor of DeMoss Learning Center
  • Residence hall upgrades: Floors are being redone and more sprinkler systems installed
  • Road work: Some major roads on campus are being repaved
