Hello LU Student, and Welcome to Lynchburg!

Lynchburg, Virginia simply put, is a great place to be. With lots of exciting outdoor recreation for the sports enthusiast, fascinating attractions and sites, fresh and funky shopping venues, endless choices for meals, natural beauty and an unparalleled selection of day trip destinations at your fingertips, you’d be hard pressed to find a more appealing location to spend your time!

The Lynchburg Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is here to help make your stay in Lynchburg as memorable as possible. We offer many services such as the Visitor Information Center, open seven days a week, to answer your questions, give directions, offer suggested itineraries for your weekend outings, videos, brochures, maps and more! They can be reached at (434) 847-1811.

The CVB can also assist your friends and family members as they plan their visit to Lynchburg. Please get a copy of the Lynchburg Visitor Guide for a thorough look at Lynchburg and the region, as well as making www.discoverlynchburg.org a mainstay of your computer resources. You will find the Visitor Guide in ‘flip-page’ technology on the website as well. Now you’ll be well informed on where to take them and what to do!

We have recently added a Facebook page, Twitter account and YouTube channel to help keep you up to date with what is going on in and around the ‘Hill City’. Find us under the ‘Lynchburg Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau”. And by the way, if you come by the Visitor Information Center with a student ID card and can answer why Lynchburg is called the “Hill City”, you will be rewarded with a small token of our appreciation.

We hope you will have a wonderful experience at LU, as well as enjoying all Lynchburg and the region has to offer. Please do not hesitate to give us a call if you have any questions. Now go…‘discover Lynchburg’!
