The Shroyer Health Center promotes health and wellness to the Lebanon Valley College community by providing physical and emotional care that emphasizes wellness and supports the academic and social development of LVC students.
The health services staff is available to meet the ordinary medical needs of all full-time students and to provide emergency medical care for the College community.
The health center is staffed with two registered nurses and part-time physicians and physician assistants. There is no charge for most medications the health center has in stock, or for visits with the nurse or appointments with the physician. During the fall and spring semesters the health center is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Counseling Services staff understands that your college experience may present personal and transitional challenges, as well as opportunities for growth. There are many reasons that a student might consider speaking with a counselor including loneliness, roommate difficulties, anxiety, relationship problems, anger control, depression, eating issues, and drug and alcohol concerns. Our counseling services are designed to promote a holistic view of wellness in mind, body, and spirit.
The counseling staff is comprised of one full-time licensed psychologist, one social worker, and a consulting psychiatrist. Counseling can be provided in both English and Spanish. The staff provides short-term, goal-oriented therapy for individuals, couples, and groups. In addition, the counseling staff offers outreach programs to the LVC community to discuss issues that have an impact on the lives of college students.
Counseling Services is located on the second floor of the Shroyer Health Center and is free for all full-time undergraduate students. Appointments can be made Monday through Friday during the academic year.
