I’m glad to welcome you to Messiah College today. On behalf of the Parent Council – Congratulations, you made it!
Sharon and I are parents of two daughters, one who graduated from Messiah in 2009 and the other is a senior here this year. I’m also an alumnus. After my graduation, we moved to Dillsburg, Pa. (just south of campus). We work, worship and interact in the community with quite a few Messiah faculty and staff. Neighboring communities want to hold Messiah to a higher standard because it is a Christian college. From what we see, the people at Messiah have not let anyone down.
The school’s mission is to educate men and women toward maturity of intellect, character and Christian faith in preparation for lives of service, leadership and reconciliation in church and society. As much as this mission is to educate, we see that the faculty and staff also live it out by example.
Sharon and I want you to know that you can trust that you and your children will be grateful for the time they spend at Messiah. We share in your excitement. Embrace each moment of joy, success, disappointment and even failure as an opportunity to hear from Jesus. This growing process isn’t reserved just for students!
The Parent Council serves fellow Messiah parents and guardians, advises the College on matters of interest to parents and helps advance the mission of Messiah College.
Psalm 37:24 says that “the LORD upholds [you] with his hand.” Believe it!
