The Miami Hurricane is the student newspaper of the University of Miami, focusing on campus events, and is free for all students. It is published and distributed semi-weekly at various designated locations around campus. One-year home delivery of The Hurricane is available for $50 per year. The Hurricane may also be viewed online. To subscribe to the e-mail edition of each issue and receive breaking news alerts, visit the Web site and click on “Register.” For inquiries about employment or general questions, visit The Hurricane’s offices in the University Center, room 221.

Ibis Yearbook

The Ibis yearbook is published annually and is distributed free of charge in September to all students who have paid the undergraduate student activity fee. The Ibis is a nationally acclaimed yearbook, winning both the ACP Pacemaker and CSPA Crown Award in 2006 and 2007. Portraits for underclassmen are free of charge; there is a $25 sitting fee for seniors, but the yearbook is mailed to a home address of the senior’s choice once the mail-out form is submitted online.

WVUM (90.5 FM), known as the “Voice of the University of Miami,” is the campus radio station, owned and operated by students. WVUM has been providing broadcasting opportunities to students for 38 years, while also serving the needs 
and interests of both the University community and the Greater Miami area.

UMTV is the University of Miami’s cable television channel, owned and operated by the School of Communication. It is carried on Comcast Cable and can be seen throughout the University as well as the surrounding Coral Gables community on Channel 96.
During the fall and spring semesters, students produce a variety of award-winning news, sports, comedy, and entertainment shows, providing unbeatable hands-on television production experience. UMTV also offers involvement opportunities in promotions, fundraising, and even underwriting sales. All of the shows and occasional special campus events are broadcast and streamed live on the Web, where you can also view archived shows.
