The University of Miami offers more than 80 study abroad opportunities around the world. Study abroad programs are available through the International Education and Exchange Programs (IEEP) office. With careful planning and approval, courses taken abroad can apply to a student’s degree as major, minor, general education, or elective credit.
Students will receive UM grades and credits with most forms of financial aid applying. Study abroad programs are open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors and may have specific admissions requirements. There are programs available for the summer, a semester, or a complete academic year at UM’s partner universities overseas.
Additionally, the UM semester on location programs in Prague, the Galilee, the Galapagos, and Rome provide students with a semester abroad with courses taught by UM professors and academic experts from overseas. Also available are faculty-led short-term programs where students earn credit while participating in a travel course with a UM faculty member(s) during intersession, spring break, and the summer.
