Sports Update: Hurricane Football

The 2009 University of Miami football team opened its fall camp Saturday, August 8 with a two-hour session at Cobb Stadium. Donning helmets and shorts, the Hurricanes worked in warm conditions, with the heat index reaching into the mid-90's by the end of the practice.

Approximately 1,500 exclusive season ticket holders were on hand to catch an early glimpse of the 2009 Hurricanes, including quarterback Jacory Harris, running back Graig Cooper and 2008 ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year Sean Spence.

The `Canes will open their 2009 schedule in Tallahassee on Monday, Sept. 7 against No. 19 Florida State at Doak Campbell Stadium. The 8 p.m. contest will be nationally televised by ESPN.
