The BearCLAW provides space for students to find other students, who are peer tutors, who can assist them to be successful in courses. Students can meet with University-provided subject area tutors, writing consultants, and supplemental instruction leaders in a space designed to foster informal, collaborative work and social interaction.
Additionally, throughout the semester student success seminars are coordinated and presented by faculty, staff, and graduate students involved with the BearCLAW and Learning Commons.
At the BearCLAW’s open computer lab, students are able to access online course materials or access their draft papers while working with tutors and Writing Center consultants. There are numerous tutor opportunities for high achieving work study students and students seeking on-campus employment. To work in the BearCLAW, students should have completed one semester on the Springfield campus.
