Middle Tennessee State University Parent Guide
Partners In Education (PIE) Program
The Partners In Education (PIE) program helps address the needs of students by creating an information-sharing partnership between students, their families, and the university. Through the Partners in Education program, PIE Participants can request academic information and suggestions to help them provide effective support for their student.
To participate in the PIE program, a student must sign and return the Student Authorization for Release of Confidential Information form (this release does not apply to personal counseling, health, or financial information protected by FERPA; however, if students are experiencing problems in these areas, MTSU staff will identify available resources). The student may withdraw the authorization at any time in writing or by appointment at the University College Advising Center.
Typical Uses/Benefits of PIE Program: obtain information on students’ academic progress, grades, grade point average, and attendance; get assistance to set up services for the student, make appointments for conferences with academic advisors or the coordinator of the PIE program; whenever questions, concerns, or problems arise, members may call University College Advising Center for help.
Forms for the PIE program can be found here.
