The Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce welcomes you to the “Heart of Tennessee.”

Our county is uniquely located in the exact geographic center of the state. Here, you will find graceful structures dating back to the early 1800s blended with modern shopping, medical facilities and amenities to lend a touch of Southern nostalgia to the county.

We are excited to have your student as part of our community and to welcome you as a frequent visitor.  During your time with us, I hope that you will take time to explore our many sites and attractions.

History abounds in Rutherford County.  Located on the historic Murfreesboro public square is the stately Rutherford County courthouse, which dates back to pre-Civil War times. The Stones River National Battlefield commemorates the memory of those who fought at the pivotal Civil War battle that took place here in 1862.  Other historic sites include Cannonsburgh Village, Oaklands Historic House Museum and the Sam Davis Home & Museum.

Recreation is an important part of life in our county as we have multiple sports complexes, a Greenway system, golf courses, soccer and baseball fields, along with boating and fishing on scenic Percy Priest Lake.

Please visit our Chamber’s main office in Murfreesboro at 501 Memorial Boulevard or visit us at our website. You can also contact us at (615) 893-6565 or (800) 716-7560. We look forward to seeing you in Rutherford County and at MTSU next fall!

Cordially,
Paul Latture III
President
