University Parent (UP) was started in 2003
by Sarah Schupp, a University of Colorado student whose parents wanted
to know where to shop, eat, and stay while visiting their student.

Schupp developed UP through the Leeds School of Business
entrepreneurial program. UP won the Deming Center's Spring 2004
Business Plan Competition. UP was a finalist for the Boulder County
Business Report's IQ (Innovation Quotient) Awards in 2005 and 2006.

Today, UP produces institution-specific guides, e-newsletters, and
comprehensive websites in partnership with universities across the U.S.
for parents of college students. We enable universities to provide
additional resources (at no cost) to parents who are hungry for
information.
