New Parents and Family Association "Meeting" NOW ONLINE!

Feedback from the September 2009 Parents and Family Association meeting was great! We had over 200 parents and family members attend to hear from various departments on campus! The Association meeting was the highest rated event during Family Weekend 2009.

Based on this feedback, we know it's tough for parents and families to attend on-campus meetings. So, the next Parents and Family Association "meeting" for fall 2009 is now online in audio and written formats. By listening to this online podcast, you will learn vital information from various departments on campus that can assist in supporting your student's success!

Feedback wanted: NCCU Parents and Family Association Constitution Draft

As you may know, the NCCU Parents and Family Association was recently repurposed under the Office of Orientation and First Year Experience. During April 2009, the first Executive Board was elected. Now, the first-ever Constitution has been drafted for the NCCU Parents and Family Association.

Academic Advising for Spring 2010

Academic advising for spring 2010 courses begins on October 21. First-and second-year students and transfer students housed in the University College should make an appointment with their academic advisors in the Alexander-Dunn Building. All upperclassmen should see their academic advisors in their respective departments.

NCCU's Commitment to Campus Safety

On October 15, NCCU conducted its emergency test on new sirens that were installed on campus for safety announcements. North Carolina Central University (NCCU) installed the new Emergency Sirens, which are part of the university's crisis communication plan and emergency notification system. It targets people outdoors who may not have access to other Eagle Alert notification methods such as email, text messages or the emergency web site.
