Dear Parents and Guardians,

On behalf of the Office of Parents & Families Services, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you and your student(s). Whether you are a new or veteran college parent, we are delighted you are a member of the Wolfpack family. The Office of Parents & Families Services believes that an informed and involved family is crucial to every student's success. The Parent Guide is designed to serve as a resource for your family. Inside, you will find information that will help familiarize you with the campus community, encourage you and your student's involvement in campus events and activities, and hopefully, make your family's transition to NC State a smooth one.

North Carolina State University is alive with hundreds of activities each year. The next few years will present a number of opportunities for families to visit campus for athletic events, arts performances, exhibitions, lectures, Parents & Families Weekend, Spring Fling, cultural and social activities, and much more. Many of these activities are free and open to the public. We hope that you will take advantage of these opportunities to explore the campus, have fun, and experience the Wolfpack spirit.

When you visit campus, be sure to take advantage of the Very Important Parent (VIP) discount program. As a member of NC State's Parents & Families Association, you are eligible to receive great discounts at hotels, restaurants, performing arts, transportation, and other businesses in the Raleigh area. Simply present your Parents & Families Association membership card enclosed in the Parents' Handbook distributed at Parents' Orientation, to access these savings.
