By now, you know that Niagara is guided by its mission as a Catholic and Vincentian university. As an institution, we continually aim for excellence – excellence in teaching and learning, in research and publishing, and in the many ways in which we serve and care for our students.
Niagara’s Catholic nature is demonstrated by our respectful community that recognizes the God-given dignity and worth of every individual. To honor our Vincentian heritage, Niagara seeks to inspire students to serve others, especially the needy.
Your sons and daughters are entering Niagara at one of the most exciting periods in its more than a century and a half of existence. Over the last few years, the physical character of our campus and 21st century approach to teaching and learning has been transformed, thanks to the most ambitious capital campaign in Niagara’s history.
Regardless of your student’s major, many of his/her courses will take place inside state-of-the-art classrooms, while biology, chemistry and physics enthusiasts will be among the first to conduct experiments within our new integrated science center.
You will also be happy to learn that we consider our communication with students’ families to be a critical element in providing a positive college experience. This handbook is intended to serve as a guide for familiarizing yourself with Niagara, but by no means is it meant to replace the one-on-one interactions with our parents and students that we hold so dearly.
We respect the critical role that you play in guiding your sons and daughters through their collegiate careers, and we look forward to assisting you in any way possible during their time at Niagara – and afterward.
Once again, thank you for choosing Niagara University. We look forward to seeing you around campus.
Sincerely,
Rev. Patrick Zengierski, Ph.D.
Assistant to the Executive Vice President for Student Outreach and Support
